Valkyria Chronicles

action/drama/romance/comedy

This anime basically consists of various persons joining their country’s militia to help fight in the war that is destroying the common folks lives. Squad 7 is formed, and these comrades in arms accomplish many things together.

This anime is, by far, one of the best I have seen. It is fun and lighthearted and humorous. You don’t want to stop watching. This anime gets a huge 10 out of 10. I loved it.

In case you were wondering where I'm coming from with my criticism, I figured I should write a little about who I am. I am a woman who has grown up in a very conservative environment. Morally, at least. When it comes to violence..........let's just say I grew up with six brothers. And what do brothers do?......................... I'll let you answer that.

Now, having grown up with this plethora of brothers, and with only two sisters (one ten years older, one seven younger), I have come to be quite the tom-boy. So when I give harsh criticisms to shoujo animes, it's because I find them completely ridiculous in their girlishness. (Though I still watch them because I often find that they are hilarious in their girly-ridiculousness. So they may be a drama-romance, but I watch them for comedy's sake.)

I know that this is kind of taboo a little in our society (with separation of church and state and therefore no one really talks about religion), but I'm going to throw this out as well: I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Therefore, I try to have pretty high standards for myself. So if you watch one of these animes and think, "What the heck was she thinking was dirty in this?!?!?!?" it's because I thought there was, and apparently you don't.

Now, if you've gotten this far, I commend you for reading my self-related rantings and I only have one more thing to say. If you have questions about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, DO NOT just randomly search us on the web. You have no idea how many people write ridiculous falsehoods about us (though these things aren't as prominent as they used to be if you search my church on the web). Instead, go here. I'm sure you can find an answer to your questions there.
